Budget 2010 – A Summary

This was a very dull budget, but with an election looming, we didn’t expect any fireworks… Attached is a brief summary of items relevant to those of you in business and also personal tax clients.

The issue I would draw your attention to is the new penalty regime for late payment of PAYE taxes – if you operate a payroll, payments need to be made by 19th of the following month, or penalties will be issued, but you will not be notified of the penalty until the following tax year….
